Well-researched and beautifully written, Midwife of the Blue Ridge doesn't shy away from the harsh realities that flavored life on the frontier. Blevins' characters are swept away by circumstance yet still reveal the strength required to carry off the plot.

I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to readers thirsty for adventure in the New World's wild western frontier.
